7. FAQ

What is Phase Five Scamp? The Phase Five Scamp is a 45-inch (114.3 cm) children's skim wakesurf board with a wide, stable profile, a thin 1/2-inch core, and a tri-fin setup. It's a suitable entry-level board for beginners and intermediate riders up to 54 kg.

What weight and size should I choose for the Scamp? The Scamp is suitable for riders up to approximately 54 kg (120 lbs) and up to 163 cm. Beyond that, it is better to choose a larger board.

Scamp or Shrimp: which to choose? The Shrimp (40 in, 4.5 L, one 2 in fin) is designed for smaller children, up to 45 kg. The Scamp (45 in, 6 L, tri-fin) takes over for taller or heavier children, up to 54 kg, with more drive thanks to its three fins.

What is a "skim style" wakesurf board? A skimboard is a thin, flat board, without the thick shape of a surfboard. Its thin core allows you to easily dig in under your feet, which helps you stand up and control the board, and makes it responsive for turns and first tricks.

Are drifts (ends) included? Yes. The Scamp comes with its tri-fin setup: a 2" center skim fin and two 1" fakie fins. The screws provided are 1" long.

Why do the colors differ from the photo? Each Phase Five board is hand-painted with an airbrush: colors and graphics vary. The photo shows an example; your board will be unique.

What safety equipment is needed for a child wakesurfing? A life jacket that fits properly and is appropriate for the water sport is essential, as is adult supervision on board. Don't hesitate to ask us for advice on choosing a life jacket.
